Mindfulness at Curzon Library In-Person
This workshop is for students who would like to wind down and take some time out of their busy schedules to feel relaxed and refreshed.
Mindfulness sessions will take 45 minutes and will involve two short activities to help you feel more relaxed and upbeat about your day.
The first activity is called Tuning In, and requires each participant to bring a pair of headphones to join in.
The second activity is a short Mindful Meditation designed for those with anxiety in a safe and non-judgemental way.
What is meditation?
Meditation can give you a sense of calm, balance and peace. Mindfulness meditation is about being present, aware of your surroundings and acknowledging the here and now.
Speaker: Mieks Weijers-McGovern is a Library Advisor who specialises in facilitating mindfulness sessions to students and staff. They are experienced in delivering sessions to those with anxiety, depression and chronic illnesses. These sessions are specially designed to cater to those with anxiety and chronic illnesses and will not include body scans, which are often used in mainstream mindfulness techniques.
