Writing for Publication & Tips of Editorial Work Online
Writing for publication, whether books or journal articles, is a vital aspect of academic life, from postgraduate study through to senior academic roles. Engaging in editorial work, such as peer reviewing or journal editing, is also a valuable way to advance your research profile, e.g. helping you build professional networks, deepen your understanding of the peer review process, and recognise the elements of effective academic writing.
This practical and inspiring workshop will:
- Offer guidance on how to write clearly and effectively for academic publications.
- Provide tips and strategies for structuring your work and meeting the expectations of journals and publishers.
- Explore the roles and responsibilities involved in editorial work.
- Help you understand what editors and reviewers look for in submissions.
- Equip both staff and students with tools to improve their writing and contribute to the academic community.
This workshop supports researchers in developing strong academic writing skills and understanding the editorial process. It is suitable for both staff and students at any stage of their research career.
