SUMMARY:Maintaining momentum: using aggregators to facilitate your current awareness
DESCRIPTION:Keeping on top of the disparate sources of information in order
to ensure you are constantly abreast of changes in your subject area can be
time consuming and overwhelming. Here we will introduce you to the idea of
aggregators which\, as online tools\, will help you organise the many
strands of information you need to monitor into a simple newsfeed for your
own use.\n\nThe workshop will be delivered both in person and online to
give you the options. However\, in order to ensure that you get the most
out of the session\, we would like to encourage you to come in person and
get help with hand-on exercises e.g. setting up accounts and adding alerts.
Continue to register with this event booking and choose either face-to-face
or online as you like. Feel free to cancel one event booking and book the
other to suit your needs\, when you circumstances change. \n\nSpeaker:
Andrew Sayer is a Learning\, Teaching and Research Librarian at Birmingham
City University\, working with the School of Health Sciences to deliver
Information Literacy sessions to all levels of students and staff. Andrew
has worked at Birmingham City University for over 20 years in various roles
for Library and Learning Resources.\n\nVenue in Seacole Building\, City
South Campus\, Room SCT010. (Direction: from the main entrance\, pass the
Starbucks Cafe\, Room SCT010 is on the right-hand side\, under the
staircase\, opposite to the Faculty Office.)
LOCATION:Seacole / Calthorpe (see details for room number)\, City South Campus (SCT/SHR)
